Why there is no "one size fits all" in pet care

Pet care has always been such a large and complex subject. Not to mention its very easy to fall into misinformation online making this even harder to understand at a glance. Most mainstream posts on any animal fail to mention one very important fact; individuality.

Just like not all bodies fit into one size, or all people don't fit into one mold. So why do we do the same with pets? Just like us pets are individuals with their own personalities - this being said how does this affect pet care? When taking this into consideration it changes "the pet care game" worlds apart.

Don't get me wrong! This doesn't mean that minimums or guidelines should not be followed - but it means that no one can decide for your pet besides you. Now no, this does not mean you can skip vet visits, ignore care and provide care under the minimum. This means that no one can chose what is right or wrong for your pet.

Individuality is a huge role in what your pet enjoys. What one hamster enjoys may be the compete opposite for another. Meaning that how often you handle your pet, how often you change a set up, what enrichment you provide, etc. are up to your hamster themselves!

Pets are so complex, and owning them is far from an easy task and trying to follow care standards that don't consider individuality just makes it harder; so instead of stressing over why your hamster or pet doesn't enjoy X focus on what they do - because in the long run that will benefit them more.
